My lil' future Dessert Diva!!!

My husband works up North around Natchitoches and a few weeks ago we went visit to do a little shopping and to let Audrey see all the pretty lights. It truly is beautiful and we love going. My husband had told me he saw a cupcake place down town, so you know of course we indeed had to scope it out. So we got all bundled up to go buy a few cupcakes. The place was a quaint corner shop on the main strip that offered sweets, coffee and sandwiches. They are indeed very proud of their products. I picked out a red velvet and Audrey chose a plain one with choc icing and sprinkles. The grand total was $7.13!!!! For 2 reg size cupcakes. WOW! I promise mine won't cost that much. We decided to save them for Mimi and the girls to sample back in Rayne. The verdict was indeed they were not as good as the Dessert Diva's. They were very cute and came square shaped, which made them unique. Here is a picture of Audrey smiling at cupcakes! The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Enjoy!

Wedding Bon Bons!

My sister's wedding colors...Coral and lots of summer hues of fushia, green and light pink. We loved our dresses and the shoes were also FABULOUS! A funky floral peep toe. For those of who may not know, I not only make yummy sweets, but also, am a licensed cosmetologist. I divide my time between the two for now, but I do know as soon as my new bakery opens I will have adjust the days I will be in the salon. I am very thankful for all my faithful clients who are always willing to work with me. I enjoy both, so I plan to keep on doing each. I won't leave you guys!!!! This photo was taken inside our salon. A new trend for weddings these days are anything that is unique and unexpected. Many of my customers have ordered them for sweets to serve at wedding receptions, in lieu of the traditional cake. From our own experience, we have learned that they are enjoyed by ALL! Within minutes of putting them out at my sisters wedding, they vanished quickly. It's such a sweet little surprise for your guests! We served the traditional wedding cake bon bons. And on the grooms table it was All about Red Velvet and LSU! Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving day! We sure did. I have so much to be thankful for this year. I am in the last stretch of finishing up my Dessert shop. My plan is to be up and running in 2 weeks...just in time for Christmas!! Lots of great goodies for everyone to try. Also great gifts for the all ages. My Favorite!!! Wedding cake...

A new customer was having a small event at her home and wanted to serve cupcakes and bon bons for dessert. She sampled my cupcakes a the Gala and truly loved them all. We came up with a few cupcake flavors for her to serve...Margarita, Carrot Cake and Wedding Cake (The Dessert Diva's favorite flavor :) and Mudslie & Red Velvet bon bons. Hope the guest were please and left wanting more!! I'm grateful for all of you who keep me busy and serve my desserts.

Monkey Bon Bons!!

Happy Birthday to Angel!!! This 2 year old's party was all about monkeys! I whipped these up to coordinate with the them of the party. Hope she liked her money treats.

First Christmas Bon Bons of the year!!!

It's hard to believe the holidays are pretty much almost here! I was delighted to roll these bon bons in cheery Christmas colors for the Dunn's Designs "November to Remember" Sale on Saturday. Customers can get a jump start on Christmas shopping. Others vendors were asked to participate and will be there selling items also. With my busy schedule and the remodeling of my new shop, I wasn't able to be there. So I whipped up a batch of holiday treats for all you guys to sample. When life gives you cupcakes...DIG IN!!!

We recently did a photoshoot so I can have photos to fill up the walls in my new place. My sister Malorie did the photography. She is still working on them and editing right now. This shot is from my brother's camera. So addorable! This is my sweet Godchild Evie! Boy was she very delighted to be chosen for this photoshoot....icing galore! She dug into the cupcakes and she enjoyed every piece of it. My daughter Audrey was in them, as well---they made it fun to watch. I may post a few once I get the final ones, or may just make you guys wait and come see them in person!!!! Hope to be up and running in a few more weeks. My oven was delivered yesterday, the lights will be on tomorrow and the rest is...well, on its way! Needs lots of pink paint on the outside before I open up the doors! Can't wait for all my loyal customers to see what they have helped me build. It will be great :)

Clair's Cupcakes and Bon Bons

A customer from Texas had sampled my cupcakes to serve at the rehearsal dinner for her wedding. She chose from a variety of mini cupcakes and bon bons to choose from. Choc with vanilla buttercream, lemon raspberry, and choc peanut butter. Hope the evening went fabulous and the cupcakes made it there safe! Congrats to the Newlyweds!!!!

2010 March of Dimes Gala

This year I was invited to be a featured chef at the March of Dimes Signature Chefs Phantom Gala. I was standing among the finest of chefs from restaurants around Acadiana. I was flattered when I was chosen to create the "dessert" for the night. I thought it was very fitting to serve a few flavors from my "Happy Hour" cupcakes. Attendants were able to choose from Pink Champagne, Margarita, and Mudslide. I think the big winner of the night was indeed the Mudslide. Everyone seemed to love the yummy filling and chocolaty icing. Everyone made the night so pleasant for me. I was glad to give my time to the organization, and was so warmed to see so many people donating to such a great cause. I am very excited to prepare goodies all year long for the ones who purchased my item in the live auction....Bon Bons for the next year!!! Thank You again for your kind donation!!! :) Thank You also to my Mom for coming help with the event, and the twins for helping me bake for the event. We prepared cupcakes for 230, it looked like an episode of cupcake wars!! Enjoy the pics!

The Dessert Diva...Coming soon!!!!

I am very excited to announce that The Dessert Diva has found a new home! After months of searching for a place to call home, I ended up stumbling across a small quaint building in Scott. Seems to have been where I was meant to be. Everything fell perfectly into place and couldn't ask for better people to work with. Today was day 2 of renovations and painting. With help from family and friends, the place will change dramatically before your eyes! Right now you may not notice the small building tucked away on Cameron St, but promise after I'm done putting my final touches to it, it may just stop traffic. So thank you to all of my lovely customers who continued to buy sweets from me! It has caused me to expand my business and will have even more to offer you. Not only will I have my cupcakes and bons bons to choose from, I am adding a few other items on the menu.....homemade Cookies, Granola and even a boutique to grab a quick gift or a lil' sussy for that special occasion. Gifts for all ages, of course all which The Diva has been picking out...all things cupcakes, leopard print, and frilly! Hope to see all of you in the future. My adventure has been wonderful so far and I plan to continue to make people smile with my talent of baking :)

A friend of mine is expecting a baby girl and they ordered some mini cupcakes for her shower. They looked so pretty all set out! Good job ladies! When my daughter and I walked in, guess where she headed??? Straight to the cupcakes. She spotted them the second we entered the door...the apple doesn't fall far from the tree!
