Jumbo Cupcakes

It's not often people order the jumbo cupcakes, so when they do, I always enjoy making them. They are so filling and big, 2 people can eat on one of them. These are wedding cake and carrot cake. There's something about the wedding cake cupcakes that I can never get enough of! They are my favorite flavor. I love the fluffy almond frosting!!! mmmm I can smell it now! They were very pleased with the giant cupcakes and thought they were beautiful.

LSU Bon Bons

These are the LSU bon bons I made for my sister's wedding. The groom's table and cake was LSU decor. He requested red velvet bon bons (with no sprinkles) They came out well and vanished not long after they were put out! Hope to have better pictures from the wedding photography...

Happy Father's Day!

The Dessert Diva wishes all the DADS a very special Father's Day! Hope everyone's day was wonderful. I was in charge of, what else, bringing dessert today. My Mom made home-made vanilla icecream, so I whipped up some yummy cupcakes to pair with it. What dad doesn't love peanut butter??? I created these yummy chocolate cupcakes, stuffed with fluffy peanut butter cream and topped high with choc icing and Reeses. They were a sure hit. Out of the 3 giant and 16 reg cupcakes, only 3 were left over. Attached are pictures of them, along with a picture of my Dad, my daughter and I. She calls him "Happy" the name suits him perfect. He is the best ever! Love you Dad ;)

What's better than a White Russian???

White Russian cupcakes!!!!!!!!!!! For occasions where just adults are around, you have to try these. The rich and spongy vanilla cupcakes are stuffed with a special whipped cream concoction, that's spiked with Kahlua, then piled high with fluffy Vanilla Kahlua frosting & chocolate drizzled on top. Need I say more? The perfect end to any fabulous meal...who needs a night cap when these babies are around???

Bon Bon topped Cupcakes...

I finally have a few minutes to share some pictures with all of you from treats I made over the past few weeks. I have a very good customer who is a teacher, and she ordered some Bon Bons for her class during L.E.AP. testing. She ordered 2 special cupcakes also for those who read all of their A.R. books (i think) and they loved the treats! So when it came time for the end of school she asked what they wanted her to bring. They told her they wanted cupcakes and "Dong Dongs"....meaning bon bons!!! How cute. Whatever people call 'em, it doesn't matter to me, as long as they enjoy them! I told her I had the perfect solution. I created these yummy Cupcakes topped of with, what else but, a BON BON! She's the best teacher ever. This was her last year teaching, retiring after 30 years of being a teacher, I'm sure she will be missed by all. Her students weren't the only ones who got treats. Her daughter ordered 30 special bon bons for a party for MOM. All in her favorite flavor...COCONUT!

Congrats to Blanche & Matt

The Dessert Diva has been very busy lately with weddings and showers, and end of school desserts! I plan to post pictures as soon as I get A few extra minutes. On the other hand I would like to share with all of you some images of my sister, Blanche, whose wedding was last night. For those of you who don't know, I come from a large family...2 boys an 6 girls! Blanche and I are very close, we are 15 months apart in age and at times we feel like twins. I had the privilage to do her hair and make up for her bridal portraits. My older brother, Bryan did the photography, which came out amazing (there's plenty of great talent that runs through our family) We can now share the photos with people since the wedding is over and the groom has seen "the dress". The wedding was beautiful and of course, there were lots of bon bons floating around the reception...wedding cake for the bride and red velvet LSU ones for the groom's table. Hope to have pictures of those soon. Thanks for following the Dessert Diva ;)
